"This stewed okra is an amazingly delicious Southern/soul food dish that is also a family favorite! An easy vegan/vegetarian option! Serve with rice, as a side dish, or by itself."

Ingredients :

  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup fresh sweet corn
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced celery
  • 2 tablespoons poultry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cube chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt, or to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 pound okra, rinsed and sliced

Instructions :

Prep : 15M Cook : 4M Ready in : 35M
  • Combine stewed tomatoes, corn, onion, celery, poultry seasoning, garlic powder, bouillon cube, seasoned salt, and black pepper in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes. Add okra and simmer until stew is thickened, about 5 minutes more.

Notes :

  • You can substitute poultry seasoning with ground thyme, ground oregano, and ground mustard.
